The Board of West Oaks would like to welcome you to the Association's public website.
West Oaks village is nestled in the heart of Pearland. The proximity of West Oaks to all
of Houston's Business, sports and entertainment venues is the place where you want to
live.
We are pleased to inform you that the board of directors of the West Oaks HOA now
consists of all homeowners. The developer has resigned from the board. According to
the bi-laws, the West Oaks Board of Directors is the sole governing body of the
association and shall have all the power and duty for the administration of the
Association’s affairs. The Board of Directors shall not be paid for their services. The
primary objective of the West Oaks HOA board is to serve the community; it is this
motivation that guides the leadership of the West Oaks HOA, not financial
compensation.
Your board is also committed to strict enforcement of the deed restrictions. It is very
important to enforce all deed restrictions and not just a selective few. Do not believe
anyone who has told you to ignore letters you might have received on deed restriction
violations. Our management company inspects all of the West Oaks HOA at least once
a month. Please contact them if you receive a violation letter and feel it is not justified or
if you need time to work out a solution. This is the only way to keep the area beautiful
and to insure your property values do not suffer.
Your board is looking at ways to reduce costs and waste. The board kept the same
dues for 2008. We have one of the least expensive dues for an area this size. We are
looking closely at all expenditures and insuring that the West Oaks HOA is truly
responsible for doing that particular function. As we find areas we are not responsible to
maintain they will be eliminated to save money and limit exposure to liability for the
association.
